The pandemic has exposed the many and gross inequalities that exist in our society.

The disproportionate effects of the pandemic on certain groups in society have been laid bare for all to see. The BAME community is unfortunately one of the groups who have suffered disproportionately; from tragic deaths, to job losses from the economic fallout of the pandemic, BAME communities have suffered.

The first step to addressing these inequalities is recognising them and that is what the Labour Party has set out to do. Leader of the Labour Party, Keir Starmer has tasked social justice campaigner Baroness Doreen Lawrence with leading a review into the impact of Coronavirus on black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) communities.
