High standards, compassion and dignity in adult social care 

Labour in North Somerset will:

• Work with care providers, the NHS and further education providers to recruit and build a professional care workforce which is recognised for its contribution to combatting loneliness, and promoting the health, dignity and wellbeing of older and disabled adults.
• Ensure procurement procedures achieve decent pay and conditions for all care workers.
• Adopt the ‘Unison Ethical Care Charter’ in order to recruit and retain a skilled workforce.
• Fight for more resources for social care and community care initiatives to reduce the need for NHS services.
