Councillor Clare Hunt has shared the following message following the passing of former North Somerset Parliamentary Candidate Steven Parry-Hearne.
It was with such sadness I heard recently that Steven Parry-Hearne, who stood as the Parliamentary Candidate for North Somerset in 2010, died a few years ago after being diagnosed with MND.
He was a hardworking candidate who quickly made a great impression on all he met during his campaign. He worked wholeheartedly and tirelessly to reach out to as meet as possible to gain support. He was always positive, kind and optimistic – despite many negative comments from those with opposing views.
His Labour held values were clear in all he said and did and spending time with him left a lasting impression. He always believed that opinions could change. How right he was and, although sadly he is not with us to see those changes in attitudes, his words helped form them.
I am sure he is greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.
