Polling is consistently predicting a Labour win in North Somerset, with recent work by ElectoralCalculus and mega-polls by YouGov, and Survation predicting Fox losing by margins of up to 2.3%, or 1,145 votes.

It’s a two-horse race in North Somerset

The polls show it’s a clear two-horse race between Labour and Liam Fox in North Somerset. ElectoralCalculus predicts the Liberal Democrat and Green parties would gain just 8.8% and 6.5% of the vote respectively, compared to Labour and the Conservatives’ 43.5% and 29.7% respectively.

The results of the last three general elections show that a vote for Labour is the only way to get rid of the Tories here. In 2015, 2017, and 2019 Labour came a strong second, with the Liberal Democrats and Greens coming in third and fourth place respectively,

With Labour and the Tories neck-and-neck in North Somerset, every vote for the Liberal Democrats or Greens risks letting Liam Fox slip back in.

Cathy Brown, a Liberal Democrat campaigner, is going to vote tactically for Labour and urges others to do the same. Read about her priorities and why she is trusting Labour to deliver on them below.
