On Thursday 5th February there will be a by-election to elect a District Councillor for Clevedon South.

Who is Labour’s candidate?

Labour’s candidate is Michael Harriott, a proven local champion who, unlike the other candidates, has a proven track of delivery for Clevedon all year round — not just turning up to take some pictures a few weeks before an election:

  • Michael is local — having lived in Clevedon for 12 years, Michael is not standing to play politics, but to give back to the community he loves;
  • Michael is experienced — having served as a Town Councillor since 2024, Michael has shown he is an effective local representative, helping to organise litter picks and fighting to get potholes filled;
  • Michael can work with Sadik Al-Hassan MP — Michael has worked with our great Labour MP before and together they will be an effective team fighting Clevedon’s corner.

Who are my choices at this by-election?

Nigel Farage’s Reform have suddenly turned up in Clevedon; they will say what you want to hear but when they get into power they just can’t deliver. Despite their promises, every single Reform Council is hiking council tax this Spring.

The Conservative candidate was was kicked off Clevedon Town Council for failing to show up to meetings. Don’t let them take your vote for granted.

And the Greens and Lib Dems are claiming they can win here based on cherry-picked data:

  • The Greens have never stood a candidate in Clevedon South before and are using data from Long Ashton. Their candidate is from Congresbury!
  • The Lib Dems haven’t stood a candidate in Clevedon South for over a decade are using data from other parts of the country!

What does the independent data show?

The independent data is clear that this election is a straight fight between Labour and Reform. Only Labour can stop Reform winning here.

A vote for the Greens, Conservatives, or Lib Dems will let Reform win. Don’t just take our word for it, check out the recommendation from the independent tactical voting sites.
